Hengecleft Keep is a site of historical importance in the Anglo Isles countryside. Centuries ago, it was the home of an Anglo King but it was abandoned and now is just crumbling ruins, with little but the outer wall left standing. The Keep now contains and helipad and two MG towers for military (and perhaps civillian) use.
During the events of Battalion Wars 2, the Keep was occupied by a Solar force shortly before the Empire was defeated and ejected from the Isles. A camp was set up by the Solars at the Keep to house and supply the invading forces. Pierce's battalion recaptured the Keep and fought off a counterattack from A-Qira.
Nearby to the Keep are the villages of Much Whittering and Lower Thatcford, two airbases and a stone monument - older even than Hengecleft Keep
